When you’re pregnant, you need almost three times more calcium than usual. The recommended intake for pregnant women is 1300mg a day, but 79 percent are failing to achieve that according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
Calcium helps your baby’s bones, teeth, muscle, heart and nerves to develop, and during the third trimester your baby draws huge amounts from you, so it’s vital you’re getting enough.
