I keep craving carbs and have gained 20kg in 5 months? Why?

A: Sometimes cravings for certain foods can be so intense that we feel out of control. It is not clear what causes our craving for carbohydrates. Studies suggest a decrease in blood sugar stimulates appetite, which causes a desire for foods high in carbs, as they are a fast energy source. But other studies suggest carbs cravings may be explained by decreases in the “feel good” brain chemical, serotonin. Serotonin helps you feel less anxious and improves your mood. Some experts think that people who crave carbs are, in a way, self medicating, as carbs boosts the level of serotonin in the brain.

If you want to get your cholesterol down, krill oil is the natural thing to go for. Taking two tablets a day for a month starts you off, then it is one daily. The results from the OmegaGen Studies recorded a total cholesterol reduction of 13% (on 1-2g per day); a drop in LDL, or bad cholesterol, of 33% - a little less for 1 gram and a little more for 2 gram; and a 45% rise in good HDL levels.
